Making Connections-Every Falling Star
In the book, Every Falling Star by Sungju Lee, there are many connections all through out the book. One of the most significant themes throughout the story is how they show how the main character's life, Sungju Lee, is drastically changing, for the most part the worst. His parents have abandoned him, and he is forced to live on the street stealing all that he can to survive during the deathly famine. But although most of the changes are for the worse, he meets people that will change his world for the better. One quote from the book is, "Little did I know that this military tactic will one day save my life on the streets." This shows how at the time when he said that, he never had to endure anything of that matter, but later on in his life he has to face issues where these tactics are helpful. He is going to go through hard times. Another quote from the story is, "I learned about history, or what I now call propaganda...." This quote shows that later on his beliefs that he thought were just, will soon be known as evil. The main character will come to know new things because of his terrible experiences. These quotes show future changes in the main character's life and mentality. There are quotes like this all throughout the book.

Intro Post
The first book I am reading is "My Father's Son" by Terri Fields. In this book, there is a constant conflict between the main character and the characters around him. You can really feel the emotion and the internal conflict. The author did a good job of making it relatable. I like how easy the author made it to feel how the main character is feeling and really being put into the characters shoes. I like how the author is making the reader constantly question what the outcome in the conflict will be. So far this book is interesting, but I am not sure how long it will stay that way.
